  • Responsible for the daily operation of the art studios during both academic semesters.
  • Supervise and instruct students in the safe operation and use of all power and hand tools.
  • Assist faculty with demonstrations pertaining to course projects and assist with studio setup for specific courses.
  • Serving as the Department’s Safety Officer; and is department contact with OSHA representative.
  • Educate and supervising student shop users regarding material and equipment safety and appropriate housekeeping practices; maintain safety equipment in good working order.
  • Working with facilities and maintenance to arrange safe storage and disposal of hazardous waste generated from studio classroom use.
